Maryland District 5 Little League

Maryland District 5 Little League, established in 1958, proudly serves youth baseball and softball players across Cecil, Harford, and Kent Counties in northeastern Maryland.

The district comprises six member leagues:

• Elkton Little League

• Chesapeake City Little League

• Havre de Grace Little League

• North East Little League

• Perryville Little League

• Rising Sun Little League 

Mission & Vision

Our mission is to foster youth development through organized play, sportsmanship, and community spirit. District 5 aims to create a positive and inclusive environment that supports physical growth, character building, and lifelong memories for players, families, and volunteers alike.

History & Legacy

Since its formation over six decades ago, District 5 has produced numerous exceptional Little League teams. Notably, Rising Sun Community League won back-to-back championships in 2023 and 2024, while Elkton, Perryville, North East and Chesapeake City have also claimed multiple district and state titles.

What We Do

• Host regular spring baseball and softball seasons across multiple age divisions

• Coordinate district-wide tournaments culminating in all-star teams that advance to state and regional play

• Promote volunteerism by engaging parents, coaches, umpires, and local businesses

• Encourage personal growth, leadership, and healthy lifestyles among youth players

Get Involved

Families, volunteers, and sponsors are the lifeblood of District 5. From coaching and field maintenance to fundraising and event management—it all comes together through community collaboration. Each member league offers opportunities and resources for newcomers to join the fun.
